Akilesh, curved foot, 2004

2007 Gurya with total healing holding her goat

2005 Gurya was in a full body cast for 45 days. Her mother kept her very clean and the cast stayed white in very difficult conditions. She lay on a table in the middle of a room that was made of hardened clay. Gurya's thigh was the size of a football and she would have died without medical intervention.

2007 Gurya now is a chubby little thing. Always smiling. She runs everywhere. It is now a tradition that I ride my scooter to visit her family. The road is like a motorcross track! After my visit Gurya enjoys a long ride clinging on to my waist as together we ride my scooter.

She wants to ride forever and always is unhappy when the ride is over!

Medical Emergency. 2005 Gurya fell down a well

We were called in because Gurya was sent home from hospital with a brick tied to the end of her foot. Believed to be traction for a broken femur.
Gurya had cried in pain for several weeks until her parents in despair called for help

First we were able to obtain crutches for Vishwenath and Rajkumar. Sonah walked by dragging his foot.

Medical Aid

When I first saw Vishwenath and Rajkumar their knees were swollen and calloused from crawling everywhere. Their deformities are caused from polio. They both were students at the Savodaypuri Education Center.

Another view of the villagers

Our celebration commenced with Inter Faith prayers, and short speaches from all the leaders.
The village mukhia and the former mukhia attended and participated in the opening.
Treats and snacks were provided for adults and for children. A happy time was had for all on Ghandi's Birthday, October 2,2008. This was also the important celebration of Ede for the Muslim population and we are honoured that leaders and people of the Muslim faith celebrated with KIRF INDIA on their own very important festival day.

A Large Group of Children and Adults attended our Opening

Over two hundred children and many villagers attended KIRF INDIA opening and dedication.
The villagers are very happy with this new hope for change in their lives.
Our dedicated teacher Dwarka has been searching for the first thirty - forty children for our first class. 80% of the students will be girl students.

Dedication of Land and Small Building Oct.2,2008

We have pure water for our children and all who need good water. We are grateful for this hand pump and that water is easily accessible.
